Hello from Charleston! After our trip to visit this past May, Ryan and I couldn’t get back down to this charming little city quick enough. We headed down this past Friday with a group of girlfriends for a summertime getaway at Belmond Charleston Place (more on that to come later this week). The second we got there I couldn’t wait to get out and explore the town. Every time I visit Charleston there’s always a new corner or quaint side street to discover for the first time.
If you’ve been following on Instagram, you may have noticed I just got back from a weekend in Charleston. But before I get into that trip, I wanted to show one last look from my trip to Palm Springs and the Korakia! As I mentioned previously, finding swimwear is always the biggest challenge for me. I usually shy away from your traditional “string bikini” and like something with a little more coverage, without looking like I’m wearing a grandma swimsuit.
Happy Friday! To wrap of my two weeks of sharing my trip to California (yes, I promise I’m almost done!) I wanted to give you all a little insight into our time we spent staying at the Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs. I had seen countless pictures of the place online – I immediately connected with its bohemian and laid-back vibes, and put it on my list of places I wanted to stay eventually.
During our time in Palm Springs, we blocked off an evening to spend exploring Joshua Tree National Park. I had heard amazing things, and Ryan, being a photographer, was dying to go for a chance at getting to shoot the Milky Way. We both had incredibly high hopes for what lied ahead, and needless to say, we were not let down in the least! Joshua Tree was easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
One thing I’m majorly missing about our time in Palm Springs are the relaxing moments we spent by the pool at the Korakia Pensione. The pool there wasn’t like most at hotels – busy and loud. Instead, it was a place of serenity and relaxation. Mountains on one side, palm trees on the other – it was somewhere to take an indulgent book, or just you and your thoughts, and cozy up for the afternoon. This suit is another one from Orchid Boutique I brought with me on my trip, and it was perfect for my down time by the pool, soaking up the sunshine.
