A Look Inside My Charleston Sun Parlor

I dove headfirst into designing this room right when I moved! I’ve never had such a bright, sunny space and it had my head swirling with excitement. This was my original vision for the room (and what it looked like before) and I stuck pretty true to it! I really wanted the space to be one I could entertain in that still maintained an indoor/outdoor living feel.

Painting the room ‘Cloud White’ by Benjamin Moore really transformed the room and allowed it to feel so much larger and brighter. I also incorporated a lot of natural elements – unfinished pine, linen, rattan, seagrass, terracotta and jute – to keep the space feeling really organic and natural. The combination of all those textures helped achieve exactly what I wanted for the space.

The floor to ceiling, wall to wall curtains might be my favorite element… it never gets old waking up and opening them to the sunrise in the mornings. It’s such a calming spot to have my coffee in the morning and dinner in the evening. I’ll be continuing to fill the room with lush greenery and a few pops of decor here and there, but I’m so thankful to have this little haven within my own home!
