My Daily Five-Minute Makeup

Most days, I barely leave the house for work, but it’s still nice to feel like I made an effort. I usually try to throw on more than gym clothes, and make some attempt at looking alive and presentable. Putting on makeup usually helps me feel more together, so even if it’s not a full-face, I still try to do a little something. I’ve skimmed down my routine to one that takes just a handful of products and about five minutes at most. I’m sharing my step-by-step process below!

1 / Prime + Cover

I use the Tula Face Filter Blurring & Moisturizing Primer every single day in place of foundation. It provides just enough coverage (it turns tinted when it hits your skin) that it covers my blemishes, gives me a slight tan, yet I can still see my skin and have a natural coverage. I use my fingers to apply and rub it in.

2 / Conceal

I have used the Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer in Light Beige since high school. I’m not claiming it’s the best ever, but I do know I tried a raved about concealer once, and it was way too heavy for me. I like that this one is lightweight, creamy, and blends flawlessly into my skin (using my fingers) while still providing coverage for blemishes and dark circles.

3 / Brows

I’m not an eyebrow expert, but I love the NYX Professional Makeup Microbrow Pencil in Espresso. It gets the job done with just one product, and works good enough for me!

4 / Bronzer + Contour

I use the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette to do a quick bronze & sculpt around my cheekbones, nose, forehead and chin. The color is perfect for my paler skin tone and gives that subtle su-kissed glow.

5 / Blush

I’ve used the Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin for years, and recently switched back to it as my regular. I love the subtle flush of color it gives.. and it smells like roses.

6 / Highlight

I tend to alternate between Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow or Supergoop! Bright Eyed Mineral Eye Cream for a dewy highlight effect. I use a dab of this under my eyebrows, on my cheekbones, and on my cupid bow.

7 / Eyes

If I want to add a pop to my eyes, I use the Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette. I use “Weekender” all over my lid, and a mix of “Jet” and “Good as Gone” to do a light liner on the outer corners of my eye with an angled brush. I don’t apply mascara on a day-to-day basis, but I do like to curl my eyelashes if I have time to open up my eyes.

8 / Lips

To finish off my look, I use a swipe of Clé de Peau Beauté in shade Pouty, or Decorté in Nude or Marmelade. All are great nude/light pink shades that are great for everyday wear.
