If you’ve followed along on some of my past adventures, you may know that Ryan and I aren’t strangers to Blowing Rock. We try to visit the mountains of North Carolina once every couple of months, so it’s safe to say we’ve settled into a routine of activities we do while visiting. Our weekends away typically consist of eating at one of our three favorite spots, and settling down at the cabin for a cozy evening in by the fire.
When Westglow Resort & Spa offered us a complimentary evening with them, we were so excited to break out of our mold and try something new. We’d driven past the resort countless times (it’s minutes away from our family’s cabin) and I had always wondered what was inside of the gorgeous mansion at the top of the hill. We headed over just before sunset to begin one of the magical evenings at Westglow.
As you’ll see in the video above, our evening out was so much more than just a dinner. Visiting Rowland’s at Westglow for dinner was an unparalleled experience. From the most welcoming tour when we first arrived to the property where we learned all of the history about the house, to delicious cocktails on the porch while watching “the glow” (when the sun sets just behind the mountains) followed by the most amazing and relaxing meal at Rowland’s – the whole night was perfect.
If you are ever in the Blowing Rock area, I can’t recommend taking a visit to Westglow enough. Even if it’s just stopping by for a drink on the porch, the sunset and view from their property is not to be missed!
