At a Glance: April

hello april

It’s the last morning in my old house before the movers come as I sit to write this. I’m in the same pair of sweats I’ve been wearing for the last three days, strong coffee in hand, my life packed in boxes, and Astor curled up next to me.

I’m so excited.

March simultaneously crept and sped by. Days were filled with packing, planning and squeezing in last minute appointments. In between all the chaos, I was also daydreaming about my new beginnings.

I spent mornings imagining what my walks would look like–which route I’d take down to the water, how refreshing it will be to feel the salty air on my face, and the new coffee shops I’ll become a regular at. I fell asleep making a list of all the activities I want to fill my evenings with, the books I want to read out on my porch, and the new restaurants on my ‘must try’ list.

Amidst it all, it feels so clear that I’ve made the right choice.

I’m so looking forward to this month–the warmer weather, getting into a routine in my new home and filling my days more meaning.

designing with intention

A large chunk of this month will be allocated towards getting my home in working order and unpacked. I have a few design ideas, but I’m mostly waiting until I get into the home to let the thoughts come to me. Instead of rushing into making the home “perfect” all at once, I plan to take it a bit at a time, and really design with intention.

I’ll be filming a house tour as soon as I get there, so lots of real time updates to come soon!

screen free evenings

Somewhere in the last year, I fell into a bad habit of turning on a show to fall asleep. With this move, I decided to pause my streaming services for a couple of months to inspire myself to spend my evenings away from a screen. I just ordered this book to read and am looking forward to cozy, quiet evenings in my new house.

morning vitamin d

Now that I’ll be living in my favorite place–and by the water–I have no excuse not to go for a daily morning walk. There is so much research about getting sunshine first thing in the morning and what it can do for your health. With the beach only a mile away… I’ll be taking advantage of that!

website updates

Be sure to take a browse around while you’re here–I’ve added some fun new sections to the home page! I plan to make weekly updates here moving forward. I’ve always loved my website the most, but it was in desperate need of a refresh. I hope you enjoy (it’s best viewed on a desktop)!

Keeping today short and sweet–time to get these boxes loaded… and next time we talk… I’ll be back in Charleston!

Thank you to those who have sent me the sweetest words of encouragement! I can’t wait for this next chapter.

xx

Marianne
