A First Look at Our Wedding

Photos by Autumn Harrison Photography

First comes love…

And then comes the fairytale wedding. I’m so excited to finally share some of our wedding photos today! If you have been following along on our wedding journey, then you know the photos above are nothing like the wedding we spent almost a year and a half planning. But in the end, I couldn’t have pictured a more romantic or perfect way to say to say “I do.”

To say the day was an absolute dream would be the understatement of the century. I remember waking up at our mountain cabin, having a cup of coffee with my family and grandfather, and eventually doing my own hair and makeup. I spent the morning in sweats and had the most low-key, enjoyable start to the day. It sprinkled on and off all morning, but looking back, I don’t remember caring or worrying about a thing.

On our drive to the ceremony at Bass Lake, I remember my dad telling me how calm I was — I think I was just so excited to finally see Ryan and be married that nothing else mattered. We pulled up to our ceremony spot where we had what we all jokingly called a “pop-up wedding,” and it was the first time I saw Ryan and our 25 guests gathered, waiting for our entrance.

The rain stopped long enough for our ceremony, the fog cleared over the lake just as we said our vows, and just like that we were husband and wife! From the moment I walked up to Ryan until the moment we left for our reception dinner, there were so many magical “pinch-me” moments. It truly was something out of a dream.

Our ceremony was followed by an intimate dinner at Westglow Resort & Spa. I was blown away walking into our room for dinner! Our wedding planner, Lauren Watson of The Lion House honestly outdid herself. By the end of our time together, I trusted her completely, and gave her little direction on what I was hoping for. I couldn’t have been more pleased with how the space turned out. It was the most gorgeous dinner setting I’d ever seen, made complete by the twinkling Christmas lights and the peaceful piano playing in the background.

I’ll be doing full, in-depth recaps on our day, looks, and decor over the coming weeks (and also sharing our wedding video!) but in the meantime, these are a few of my favorite moments to sum up the most perfect day I could have ever asked for. Though I would have been happy going to the court house to marry Ryan, being able to profess our love for each other with our closest family and friends the way we did is something I will cherish for the rest of our lives.
