At this point, fashion month is well under way. With just a couple of days of NYFW left, there have already been so many incredible designs coming down the runways! Between Marissa Webb, Zimmermann, Rachel Zoe, Tadashi Shoji, and Herve Leger, I am so excited for what’s to come! Every collection was so perfect and beautiful – I could go on and on for hours about each!
While I’m always left in awe and inspired after watching the shows, one of the things I was left most impressed by during NYFW was the super chic winter street style! Who knew you could manage to look so polished and fashionable in ten degree weather? Well, the girls at fashion week found a way!
I realized I have a lot to learn about the art of layering and dressing for winter. I’ve always thought of layering from the inside out – put on a turtleneck, sweater, coat, and scarf – that’s layering right? Well these girls add even more! Not only is there a turtleneck, chunky sweater, blazer or peacoat, but then they add a fur vest or stole, and polish the look off with a belt. Some even braved the harsh cold and layered flowy maxi dresses with suede boots, tights, and layers of faux fur jackets.
I’m almost ready to kick the cold weather to the curb, but I’ve got a trip to somewhere snowy and cold coming up this weekend! My spring sundresses are patiently waiting for me on my rack, but I couldn’t be more excited after seeing all of the NYFW street style to try out the new layering tips and tricks I’ve been drooling over for the last week! Stay tuned to the blog – I’ll be sharing how I incorporated a little bit of the inspiration I saw at fashion week on here next week!
