I have always struggled with finding long, full length trousers that don’t completely consume me. While I’m not too short (I’m 5’4), I’m definitely not blessed with the long lanky legs my sister has. Years ago, I found a pair of wide leg trousers and fell in love with them. Unfortunately, I suffered from instant heartbreak in the fitting room when I realized they were inches too long for me. My sister, who stepped flawlessly into them, ended up getting them instead.
I tried to hide my bitterness, but from that moment, I was convinced I would someday find my perfect pair of pants. I was on the hunt for something the other day when these caught my eye. They were one of two pairs left, and happened to be my size. I stepped into the fitting room, fingers crossed these just may be my match.
It was love at first sight. They were a perfect fit… everywhere. Just the right length, just the right amount of hug, and just the right rise. I loved the gold zipper detail, and that the high waist makes me look exponentially taller than I am. It was one of those moments when I knew I had found a piece that would become a staple in my wardrobe for years to come.
