Hello from Charleston! After our trip to visit this past May, Ryan and I couldn’t get back down to this charming little city quick enough. We headed down this past Friday with a group of girlfriends for a summertime getaway at Belmond Charleston Place (more on that to come later this week). The second we got there I couldn’t wait to get out and explore the town. Every time I visit Charleston there’s always a new corner or quaint side street to discover for the first time.
Our first morning there we headed down to Tradd Street – one of my favorites to be on first thing in the morning when the residents are just waking up and enjoying their cup of coffee. Last time we were down, the temperatures felt like we were just creeping into the beginning of summer, but this time, it was HOT. Even first thing in the morning, it was sweltering hot and humid – but in the best kind of way. It was what a true summer getaway should be like – heat drenched, hair pulled back, and making pit stops for ice cream and iced coffee whenever possible.
Breezy sundresses like these were absolutely necessary to beat the Charleston heat. Anything off-shoulder, lightweight and breathable is highly recommended for this time of year! This was the perfect dress to take me from our morning strolls into brunch later that afternoon, all while staying as cool as possible!
