My Five Favorite Summer Fragrances

“No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory.” – Coco Chanel

I’ve always thought of my perfume as an accessory to my outfit. It’s not one that can be seen, but worn correctly, a scent can change the entire feeling of your look. Take a black tee dress – work with a summery citrus fragrance it can be perfect for an afternoon bike ride, but spritzed with something a little richer, it will help you feel date night ready. I also switch out my perfume based on the season – I like fruity and floral smelling ones this time of year, and something a little more heavy and natural scented in the fall and winter. I’ll walk you through each of my favorite summertime scents below!

FlowerBomb by Viktor&Rolf

This one is technically a year-round favorite, but I’ve been heavily wearing it this summer. It has a beautiful floral scent without being too overpowering. I tend to wear this one more in the evenings or when I’m going to events. I always get compliments on it!

Peony and Blush Suede by Jo Malone

This is a new favorite for me. I’ve heard rave reviews over the years, and recently received a sample size of it. It’s been the only one I’ve reached for since! I’m pretty certain I’ll be adding this to my collection very soon. It’s a perfect daytime fragrance that doesn’t feel over the top but still makes you feel sophisticated and confident.

Fleur d’Argent Eau de Parfum by Miu Miu

I’ve been wearing other Miu Miu fragrances for years, but recently fell in love with this one. It’s an elegant floral scent that Miu Miu describes as “layering an elegant jacket over a sexy dress,” and I think that’s the most fitting description. It’s perfect for date night!

Evening Rose by Aerin

This was my wedding fragrance, so naturally, it holds a special place in my heart. I would definitely say it’s more of a spring/summer fragrance, being light and floral. I tend to save it only for special occasions, but I think this scent could easily be worn for either day or night. A little goes a long way!

Nectarine Blossom & Honey by Jo Malone

This one might be my all time favorite – it has such a unique scent! Jo Malone aimed to capture the image of London’s Covent Garden early morning market with this cologne, and nothing feels more summery. I highly recommend giving this one a try if you’re looking for something unique and citrusy.
