You know that saying “you make plans and the universe laughs”– I’ve learned firsthand in the last few weeks exactly what that means. The moment I uttered the words about settling in and making the most of where I am at the moment, everything changed.

I received news a few weeks ago that my landlords are selling the house I’m renting.
Cue: my total state of shock, heartache and panic.
They have been nothing short of gracious, giving me plenty of time to figure out my next step–which to this day, I have absolutely no clue.
I have loved making this little Raleigh ranch my home–so much so that I even considered buying it myself. At the end of the day, I know that as much as I love this place, it isn’t what I’ve been working so hard to save for. I know I need to place my trust in something bigger that my next chapter is still waiting up ahead.
Up ahead where, you might ask? Your guess is quite literally as good as mine. I keep rereading the line I wrote at the beginning of this year:
“It’s said to be a year of transformation, forward movement, bold action and adventure.”
All I can say is, it seems that will be the case.
As a Type-A planner, I usually have all my ducks-in-a-row before sharing any sort of news like this… but not this time. I wanted to share this update in real time, in a real way. The reality is, this house (location aside) was pretty close to my dream home. I might not be so lucky in my next place–and that’s okay.
I do know wherever I end up, I’ll do my best to make it feel cozy and like home.
I still have a couple months left here, so I’m making it my mission to capture full room tours sparing no detail before I leave, let me know if there’s anything in particular you want to see!
Thank you for always continuing to follow along – I guess we will find out what’s next together!
xx Marianne
