A Lesson in Jean-ealogy

I’m no jeanius, but I do know a thing or two…

If you’ve seen my recent Daily Outfits, it’s no secret that I’m a definite jeans + t-shirt type of girl. Nine times out of ten, it’s probably what I’m going to be wearing. While I don’t consider myself a huge jeans aficionado, I have found a few tried and true pairs that I reach for over and over again. The top things I look for in denim are comfort, long-lasting, and high-waisted. The following three brands have been my go-to’s when it comes to denim over the last few years.

Madewell

I’ve never gone wrong with a pair of Madewell Denim. I’ve tried all styles – from their boyfriend fit to high-rise skinny and cropped, they’re all perfect. If you’re between sizes in Madewell, I’d typically say to size down, but their website has a great size predictor. My favorites from Madewell are The Perfect Summer Jean and the 10″ High-Rise Skinny Jeans.

Levi’s

Another great denim purchase right around the $100 mark my Levi’s. I have two pairs and basically rotate between them both. They weren’t quite as comfortable as my Madewell ones are right off the bat, but once broken in, they fit like a glove. My two favorite styles are the 501 Skinny Jeans (I think they fit more like a tight-fitting straight leg denim) and the Wedgie Icon Jeans (I call these my mom jeans).

AG

If you’re looking to invest in a great pair of denim, I highly recommend trying out the AG styles. I purchased the Isabella High Rise almost two years ago, and it is my go-to comfy pair of denim. They’ve held up really well and are one of my best purchases. I would recommend sizing down on these – they did stretch once I broke them in! I found my exact style on sale here for under $100!
