Hi hi and happy Friday! This is my first official update post I’m writing from my new Charleston home… it still feels so surreal to say! The last couple of weeks have been a total whirlwind of getting unpacked and settled in. It always takes so much longer than anticipated, so I’ve been giving myself grace and trying to get out and enjoy my days in between boxes. I’ve been getting into a really good rhythm with walks and going out in public–even if just for a quick coffee–to get to know my neighborhood a little more. I couldn’t love it more so far–here’s a look at the first few days and what I’ve been up to! xx

My first tablescape out on the new screen porch! I love this tablecloth and napkin combo (both from Tuckernuck!) I wasn’t sure about being under a porch versus being outside at first–but I’ve already decided I’m going to love being bug-free come summer.

My town has a farmer’s market on Tuesdays and I’ve already made it a part of my weekly routine. There’s a fresh pasta I used to LOVE getting when I lived here before called Rio Bertolini, and I was so excited to see they are at my local market (their ravioli is a must)! A favorite new vendor is Urb Farm–I’ve been grabbing a bouquet from them for my dresser/bathroom.

Medicine cabinet looking cute! Oak Essentials has taken over my beauty routine–I use the face products sparingly (I have extremely sensitive skin), but am beyond hooked on the body care. The scrub, lotion, body butter and sunscreen are all favorites. I also just started using this hand soap and it is the most intoxicating smell!

A couple flea market scores–for thirty cents each! Can’t wait to dive into each of these–my landlord has given me full permission to plant anything I’d like, and it’ll be fun to really dip my toes into actual landscaping and gardening. Reminding myself I need to film a “before” garden tour soon!

I actually can’t believe these pictures are of my house–I don’t think I’ll ever get over the big beautiful window and natural light in this home! My major vintage score from the Digs Charleston Warehouse Sale completely set the tone for this room. It is a either sixteen or eighteen-hundreds Jacobean hand-carved oak table… DREAM. So many of the photos I have saved on Pinterest have a table just like this and I’m still pinching myself that I now have one, too.

I drove into downtown earlier this week for the first time since moving back–I’ve been loving exploring my side of town so much that I hadn’t felt the need to venture in! I took a walk down King to visit my old house (currently being restored) in South of Broad and stopped by Sorelle for my favorite iced latte. It felt good to be back in the old neighborhood, but I have to admit–I love not living in the tourist chaos full-time.

I’m truly enjoying my backyard so much! This probably sounds funny to people who grew up in coastal areas–but the palm tree in my backyard makes me feel like I’m on vacation 24/7. I feel like I’m in at an airbnb oasis… the best! I just started reading Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage by Belle Burden this week and highly recommend!

There’s an area called ‘Shem Creek’ within walking distance of the house and it’s been where I’ve wanted to spend all my evenings! There’s a boardwalk that goes all through the marsh that I’ve enjoyed running up to, and have also enjoyed a happy hour watching the sunset at one of the restaurants. It can be crowded (especially on weekends) but it’s been so nice to just pop up for an hour and then walk back home!

A moment for this Hill House dress! I wore it to meet some new friends downtown at Lillians earlier this week–trying to share of my day to day outfits here now that I actually am motivated to get out of the house and look semi-cute… YAY. Shoes are my fave flats (I tucked the crossband in) and anklet is old Sézane.

Speaking of running–I checked something off my bucket list this week! I’ve always wanted to run the road that stretches from Mount Pleasant to Sullivan’s Island (the beach). It’s about 3.5 miles from my house to my favorite beach entrance… and I did it this week! It was more of a walk/run, but SO fun and I ran straight into the ocean for a dip afterwards. The best post-run reward!

Sunset at my neighborhood beach with my bestie! I truly can’t believe this is real life.
