Rethinking Wintertime Pastels

If you saw my post about wearing all black in the daytime last week, then you know I’ll be the first to admit that there’s something about this time of year that makes it so tempting to dress in darker hues. Maybe it’s because it matches the mood of the season, or some illusion that we think darker colors provide more warmth. I have to say, I’m totally guilty of this! The only lighter color I typically reach for this time of year is a winter white.

As our mindsets start gearing up for spring and get ready to say goodbye to our winter wardrobes, my perspective on pastels has started to change with the season. I’m not usually one to wear color in general, but when I threw this cozy sweater on for a snow day last week, I was an instant convert! I love the juxtaposition of the baby pink sweater with the harsh winter air – not feeling drab and dull put me in best mood all day.

Since we still have several more weeks until the warmer temps are here to stay, I’m finding ways to start incorporating springtime hues into my looks now. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite wintertime cozy pastel pieces below – so many of the pink options would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!
