If I’m judging by the weather, it’s safe to say after this weekend that spring is finally here! After a pretty cold and glum winter, I’m ecstatic to see the sunshine and feel the temperatures starting to warm. But with the change of seasons, comes a change of my wardrobe! While there are some classics that carry over from season to season, like my favorite white button down and the perfect pair of denim, there are a few new trends I’m looking forward to incorporating into my everyday staples.

This season, we can expect to see women’s wear becoming more about comfort. Those skin-tight LBD’s can stay in our closets for this season if we choose. It’s all about luxurious comfort – silks, flowy fabrics, and the ease of dressing. It’s a subtle sexiness that brings the boudoir into everyday dressing, making a women feel both beautiful and confident at the same time. Here are some of the trends I’m most excited about seeing:

Jewel-Tone Lace :: We’ve seen the prevalence of lace the last several seasons, but this spring try mixing it up with darker hues of plum, navy, and blue.

Luxe Loafers :: I’m all about a classic loafer, so this season I’ll take that easy slip-right-on idea and give this backless version a try.

Silky Slip Dress :: There’s nothing more chic and sophisticated for a date night out on the town. Try in it a classic black, or try a pastel color for daytime dressing.

Pajama Dressing :: I told you this season is all about comfort – and there’s nothing more comfortable than daring to wear your pajamas to the office. From silk shirts to pants and robe-like dresses, pajama-inspired pieces took over the runways.

Choker Game :: It’s the final touch to any look this spring – whether it’s gold or just a ribbon you’ve cut and tied yourself into a bow, it’s the perfect finishing piece to compliment a button up blouse or an off shoulder sleek dress.

Show Some Shoulder :: We saw the emergence of the off shoulder trend last year, and this year we’re seeing its sister style – the cold shoulder. Dresses like this and this are all the rage; it’s how to show a little skin, but still have a totally wearable, no-fuss look.

Must-Have Metallics :: Just because trends are comfortable doesn’t mean they can’t be flashy. A little pop of gold or silver can give your look a touch of drama, and that 90’s element that is so in style right now.

Retro Romper :: My personal favorite on the list – no matter what’s trending, I always need a vintage romper in my wardrobe to throw on for impromptu springtime picnics and bike rides.
