Happy September! It’s so hard to believe the unofficial end of summer is already happening this weekend. As much as I anticipate the cooling of temperatures and sweater weather, summer always seems to come and go in the blink of an eye. From cookouts to days at the pool and the endless number of sweet sundresses I try to fit wearing into one season, summertime always flies by.
It’s always bittersweet come mid-September when it’s time to pack up the dresses and flowy skirts, sandals and boater hats. I have many pieces from this season that I’ve come to love and am not ready to say goodbye to for a few months yet! Topping the charts is this gorgeous floral midi dress, and this white eyelet skirt. However, with the leaves on the verge of turning hues of red and orange, it’s time to bid them adieu and start reaching for those darker palates and heavier textures.
With Labor Day this weekend, I’m trying to cram in all of my favorites and wanted to share this look as one last hoorah to summertime. This sweet off-shoulder top is perfectly paired with a white embroidered short (two of my favorite trends from this summer – see the posts about them here and here). It may be a bittersweet goodbye, but there are so many exciting things for fall that I can’t wait to start wearing and trying out. In the next few weeks I’m looking forward to flipping through every September issue and getting inspiration from street style at fashion weeks around the globe.
