Seeking Inspiration

After being cooped up sick in bed all week long (I’m sorry for my lack of posts!), I sat to write this post and suddenly found myself falling short on inspiration. Due to most of the hours of my days this week being spent sleeping, my cold and my time spent in a dark room left me feeling rather dull.

I finally turned on a light and reached over to the stack of untouched magazines on my desk that have built up over the past week – Vogue Paris, InStyle, W, and best of all, the Winter Escape edition of Porter. “Perfect,” I thought to myself – a winter escape (and an escape from my state of gloom) was just what I needed! I grabbed my glossy and curled up back in bed, ready for some fresh new inspiration!

Of course, that’s exactly what I found! And oh so much of it too! Porter’s fashion memo in this volume is perfection. It was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits and focus on sunnier days ahead. According to Porter, winter escape’s new mood is:

After being in sweats for the majority of this week, these words (and gorgeous images) were music to my ears! Bright colors and spring-time dreaming? Yes, please! Bring on the resort wear! Speaking of which, I’ve updated my Luxury List in my sidebar to include my favorite pieces for resort season. Now I just need to get over this cold and pick somewhere tropical to go!
