Ryan and I shot this a couple of weeks back on one of our morning adventures around downtown. The streets were deserted, the birds were chirping, and the sun was beaming down upon us. At the time, I remember being hopeful that spring was just around the corner. I was perfectly comfortable in just a cardigan and my new favorite loafers, and the days of my fingers being frozen seemed far behind me.
As I mentioned yesterday, Raleigh is currently facing record low temperatures, and the days of those warm rays of sunshine seem like a distant memory. This look was one of my favorites even prior to shooting these photos, but now when I look back and am reminded of the amount of playfulness and happiness I felt that day, it makes me love all of these pieces even more.
I got to spend the rest of the day soaking up the sunshine – between sitting on the grass watching Ryan’s soccer game, and grabbing sandwiches and sitting by a fountain outside, I had a perfect spring day right in the middle of February. Now, I’m just crossing my fingers in hopes that this beautiful weather makes a return soon.
