One of the shifts in fashion that I am most excited about is that women are no longer feeling pressured to ‘bare it all’ in order to be trendy or sexy. It’s no longer about the low rise denim or the super short shorts. Necklines and hemlines have taken a conservative turn, while still allowing women to feel beautiful and ultra-femme.

Being covered up with unexpected pops of skin peeking out is now the way to go! We’re seeing midi skirts and high-low hemlines that show just a little bit or leg, or a conservative top in the front with a back-revealing slit down the back. I love a caption in this quarter’s Porter that says this season is all about giving a subtle hint about what lies beneath, but not giving away too much. I couldn’t have said it better myself!

This little white dress (you may have read how obsessed I am with themĀ here), is perfect for this season’s “show a little skin” trend. I love its loose fitting body but then its little keyhole in the front. Its just enough to feel elegant for an evening out – and something about the neckline cut is oh-so retro-glam. I’ve been seeing this cut in a few of my favorite Australian collections this season – all my top picks are linked below.
