NYFW Day Two

It’s so hard to believe it’s already been a full week since my second day of NYFW! Time flew by so quickly up there, and it seems to have gone even quicker since I’ve gotten home. The surge of inspiration during fashion week has me incredibly excited, and drumming up all sorts of new content for the blog (stay tuned)! Without further adieu, here’s a look at my second day in New York.

6AM: Rise and Shine

There’s no such thing as sleeping in during NYFW. Though it seemed like I had only fallen asleep a couple of hours prior, I was up wide-eyed and ready to go for another day. It was time to get ready and put on my look for my morning show. I choose to go a bit casual for the first half of day two, and it ended up being one of my favorite looks I wore all fashion week.

I wore a basic sheer button down with a simple black suede mini skirt, but finished the look off with my go-to kitten heel booties and a simple necktie scarf – oh, and my wide Anthropologie belt I can’t live without lately! I’d read an article recently on Who What Wear that every ‘it’ girl in NYC was currently sporting the neck tie trend, so I figured there was no better time to take the look for a spin! I love the bit of Parisian flair it added to my otherwise basic look.

10AM: Misha Collection Runway Show

As a lover off all things Aussie, especially the fashion, I was so excited to attend the Misha Collection show. Her pieces are always gorgeous – and her collection this season did not disappoint! Full of silky blacks, bold reds, leather, and shimmering tassels – it was perfection. Feather and lace embellished the ultra-chic and femme collection. My favorite look was an all white lace dress with most exaggerated bell sleeves and a high neck (pictured below – excuse the blurry iPhone photo) – it was to die for!

12PM: Hearst Building Tour

As a nice break in the middle of the day, I got to have lunch and take at tour of the Hearst Building with one of our good friends. It was beautiful on the inside – talk about a dream place to work. Touring the HGTV Magazine offices was such a fun experience. I’ve never seen so much gorgeous home decor in one place. Oh – and did I mention the view of the NYC skyline? Ah-mazing.

6PM: Outfit Change

I wanted to slip into something a little more elegant and sophisticated for night evening events, so I opted for this gorgeous ruffled dress from Zara. Paired with my favorite gold Louise et Cie bag and my go-to suede pumps, it was a simple yet chic look that carried me through the rest of my night. And just like that, we were off to our next show!

8PM: Tadashi Shoji Runway Show

To say I near about passed out from excitement over being invited to this show is an understatement! Tadashi was one of the first shows I ever watched, and I have been hooked ever since. He always debuts the most stunning collection with such a spectacular presentation. To be part of in in person was the most phenomenal and surreal experience.

The collection was full of parachute skirts, indicate lace, bold colors, embroidery, and feathers galore! It was so hard to pick just a few looks to share, but theses were definitely some of my favorites. I’m also completely obsessed with the tassel earrings paired with every look. He pulled inspiration from the image of Wu Junyong’s “The Flying Ark”, and embodied the ethereal vibe of animals and earth becoming one.

9PM: Demo Parkchoonmoo Runway Show

The last show of the day was Demoo Parkchoonmoo and it was the best way to close out the evening. After a full day, I could truly appreciate the simplicity of the collection. It was a very neutral and streamlined collection in mostly black, white, and blue hues, but what I loved most were all of the patchwork pieces in the collection. It’s something I can totally see myself wearing come spring!

1oPM: Dinner (FINALLY!)

By the time we sat down for dinner at Vella Wine Bar, we were both so famished that we devoured our food before we could snap a pic. This was one of the best places we ate in the city –  I can’t recommend the prosciutto flat bread enough! It is seriously mouthwatering and life changing.

12PM: Bedtime
