As I mentioned here, I spent this past weekend on a ski trip and staying at the cabin to celebrate Ryan’s birthday. It was definitely one of the best weekends – it was so nice to get everyone together and try something new. While visiting the cabin and staying in Blowing Rock is definitely nothing new for me, one thing I love about frequenting the same place is the opportunity to get to see all the beautiful sights.
So often on trips to places I only visit once, I run out of time to see everything I want to and truly take my time to adventure and explore. Ryan and I have visited the Moses Cone Manor house a couple of times, but I haven’t taken the time recently to really sit on the front porch and take in the view. It’s closed this time of year so we had the whole place to ourselves! It was first thing in the morning, just after the sun came up, and the sky was so breathtaking.
We stood on the porch for a while, overlooking one of our favorite lakes and places to walk down below. I felt on top of the world! I was also perfectly warm experimenting with one of my new favorite layering looks I saw during fashion week. It was a mild morning so I threw on this fringe-trim mini, my favorite suede over the knee boots, and a turtleneck layered with a cozy black vest. This vest is on major sale and is quickly becoming my most worn piece – stay tuned to the blog later this week for a second way I styled it on our mountain getaway! I finished the look of with the perfect pop of color with my Linea Pelle crossbody bag (that easily doubles as a clutch)!
