Where does time go? It’s so hard to believe it’s already the end of May! It feels like just yesterday we were hanging the ornaments on the Christmas tree. With this past holiday weekend marking the unofficial start to the summer, it’s time to start thinking summer wardrobes!

Pretty soon, the days of layering and needing that extra trench coat in the mornings and evenings will be long behind us. Our ensemble will be transformed into something easier and less bulky, and with that a whole new realm of possibilities will be available! Fabrics will thinner, dresses will be shorter, and hues will be lighter.

When I first received this French Connection dress months ago, I struggled figuring out how to style it. It was still winter, and I assumed with the long sleeves, this dress was only fitting for the cooler months of the year. I usually coordinated it with black shoes and darker accessories, belted or unbelted, but nothing felt quite right. However, this past weekend (despite the eighty degree weather) I slipped it back on to give it one more chance.

It turns out I was completely wrong – This dress is actually perfect for the warmer months ahead! The silky fabric was surprisingly breathable and kept me incredibly cool. The lighter whites and pinks on the front of the dress pair perfectly with with blush pink pumps and fun retro sunnies. I love how something as simple as the change of seasons can make us see old things in a completely new light.
