Let’s Talk About Denim

With the beginning of fall under a month away, I’ve already started building up my wardrobe for the cooler seasons. One of the first staples I needed to add to my closet was a good pair of denim. Once I started looking at all of the options out there, I realized there’s way more to choose from now than just your average pair of skinny jeans. I’ve rounded up my top 5 styes that I’ve decided are on my “must-have” list for fall!

The Cropped Flare I’ll admit, I was on the fence about this one for a while. Cropped flares? It kind of reminded me of a bad capri pant moment from high school. When I tried these on from Anthropologie, I realized that they weren’t at all the same! They are actually completely sophisticated and chic, and can make anything it’s paired with look a little more high-fashion.

The Vintage Straight Leg This is your casual, go-to weekend jean. It’s relaxed with a tomboy feel, and will pair perfectly with your favorite sneakers and a tee or button down. They are perfect for a run to the farmer’s market or a cool fall afternoon spent outdoors.

The Mom Jean Hear me out on this one! Mom jeans can actually be incredibly chic – not to mention comfortable. Buy them in the perfect faded wash and put them a pair of pointy toe flats and a sleek top, and you’ve taken a look we might have avoided in the past, and turned it into something that’s perfectly acceptable for girls of any age to wear.

The Asymmetrical Hem This is my personal favorite to try out this year! Trade in last season’s skinnies for a pair of these – think of them as your new go-to denim for any look. They look just as good paired with some heels as they do your run-around-town sneakers. Definitely a must have!

The Original Flare I fell in love with the flare trend and can’t wait to expand my collection this season. I got a high rise, dark wash pair last year, and love this lighter wash with the button detailing. I guess you could say I’m still not over the 70’s trend from last season!
