It’s amazing how much of an impact one little change can make. I’ve had the same hair cut (long and curly) since middle school. I had always joked about someday chopping off my hair and doing something completely different – and while everyone always told me not to, I still wanted to make some sort of a change. Enter: my new bangs. I had talked about cutting my bangs for weeks, and although I got a mixed response to the idea, I decided to do it anyways. It seems small and insignificant, but it was one of the first decisions I had made in a while just for me, just because I wanted to. I had no idea how it would turn out (or if I would want to go into hiding for the next few weeks until they grew out), but I trusted my gut and now have a new-found confidence because of it. I feel re-inspired and couldn’t be happier with the risk I took.
