Curating a work-week friendly wardrobe during the summertime is usually fairly simple – find a sweet yet sophisticated sundress, layer on a cardigan or blazer, and you’re good to go. However, I always find that during the cooler months that require you to cover up a little more, it’s more challenging to create looks that feel elevated yet chic at the same time.

My full-time job (not blogging) luckily doesn’t have too strict of a dress code, but there are days on occasion when it requires me to put my best-dressed foot forward. But what to wear? A pantsuit feels way too stuffy for someone my age, but a simple pair of cigarette trousers and a sweater airs on the side of too casual.

This pair of tailored yet wide legged dress pants is exactly what my professional wardrobe has been missing. Sleek enough to step into any meeting, but still bursting with personality from the rich wine colored hue and slightly flared leg. Coupled with my favorite blouse (I reach for this weekly during the fall and winter!) and my go-to belt, it was easy to create a business casual ensemble that felt chic while remaining office appropriate.
