House Plants

houseplanthunting1I’ve mentioned previously that I lack a green thumb – so much that I can’t even keep succulents alive. But after a few months of successfully maintaining my herb garden (you can see the post here), I’ve decided I’m ready for my first house plant. My apartment is currently a little bit of a wreck prepping for the move, so I can’t do too much decorating for another month. Luckily, Pinterest makes it easy to start my planning, and put together some ideas of what greenery I want to see in my new place.

So far, I’ve narrowed it down to two main types of plants I love the look of. My major house plant purchase will be a fiddle leaf fig. I love the shape of the leaf, the size, and essentially everything about this plant. It is so sophisticated and modern, with just a hint of jungle feel. The second type of plant I’ll be adding are cacti. I’ve tried succulents in the past and have always managed to under or over water them, but I’m hoping a few cacti in potted plants on shelves will be just the right thing for me. Here’s a few images I’ve found that have completely inspired me to add a few more pops of green into my new place. Any new suggestions are welcome – thanks for reading!
