Gift Guide: Tech Gifts for the Home

I blame it on the new homeowner in me (or maybe it’s just part of becoming an adult) but receiving things for my home is one of my favorite things as of late. Whether it’s a new light fixture or something to make it safer or more efficient, they are some of life’s little pleasures that I enjoy most. If you have someone in your life who recently bought a home, or just loves to put their energy into making their house as up-to-date as possible, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite tech gifts for home below!

Be sure to head over to the Holiday Shop for several more gift guides and ideas for him, her, and more!

Tile

Tile Mate and Tile Slim Combo Pack 4pk

Though this isn’t necessarily “for the home,” it is something I use at home at least once a week. It’s gadget/app combination that helps you find your keys (or anything else you stick the tile to) with your phone, or vice versa. It takes the frustration out of my mornings when I’m already running late and can’t find where I threw my keys the night before.

Nest

Learning Thermostat

Ryan talked about this on his gift guide for him – but I didn’t realize how much I would come to love a thermostat until we had this. We truly have saved so much money by being able to adjust our temperature to be “eco” friendly and not run as high during the hours we aren’t home. Being able to control the temperature from bed via the app is just the cherry on top.

Crosley Radio

‘Player’ Turntable

If you know someone who loves having a cozy touch to their place and loves music, this is such a fun gift to get. I gave one to Ryan years ago, and it’s one of my favorite things in our house. We love starting off a date night at home with one of our favorite records on and cooking up some dinner. There’s just something special and romantic about listening to our favorite tunes via this player.

Netgear

Arlo Pro Security System with Siren

Though we live in a perfectly safe neighborhood, there’s something about having a security system that makes me feel extra safe when I’m home alone. I love that this one has multiple cameras that can be checked on your phone, and has an extremely loud siren to set off should you feel threatened. It’s also nice that it connects to an Alexa/Echo to help streamline all the tech gadgets in a home.

Amazon

Echo Dot

Ryan won this at work and at the time I thought we would barely use it. We were wrong! We’ve since hooked it up to a couple stereo systems and all of our app accounts – we can access and do so many things just by asking Alexa! I love asking the weather and traffic in the morning to help plan my day. It’s such a fun and easy to use tech gift that I now wouldn’t want to be without!

Ring

Video Doorbell

We just got this for our home, and I’m beyond excited. I HATE to answer the door when I’m home alone, so I usually just ignore the person. This is great because it sends a video of who is at your door to your phone, and then you can communicate with them via speaker without having to open the door. Genius! I’m so excited for it to be installed and to start using it.
