How To Dress Festively for Casual Holiday Events

While I love any excuse in the book for an opportunity to throw on something sequined and sparkly, there are so many occasions this time of year that don’t necessarily call for something quite so glam. Though plenty of holiday parties will require such a dress code (stay tuned for an exciting glam lookbook coming soon!), I’m finding myself reaching for my casual holiday pieces more often than not.

For occasions like these, I have two looks I usually go for. The first is a cozy sweater dress with knee-high boots and a classic pair of earrings. To make the look festive, pick a dress in a neutral or warm tone (think burgundy, plum, or dark green) – bonus points if there are embellishments! I’m loving this under $70 one I’m wearing here. Option number two is something I wear almost daily this time of year: faux-leather leggings and an oversized turtleneck sweater. The look is effortlessly chic, and fits the dress code for any casual dinner or get-together this holiday season.
