Denim Days

Whenever I get into a fashion rut, I go one of two ways. I either try something completely new and unexpected to liven up my look, or I go back to basics, and stick with what I know works well. This time of year, it is so easy to get stuck in a rut. Nothing in my closet seems appealing – it’s too warm and sunny to bundle up in my cozy sweaters, but it’s way too cool out to start wearing sundresses! Do I wear tights or no tights? It’s such a confusing time of year.

Needless to say, I’ve been in a bit of a fashion funk these last few weeks. In my “time of crisis,” I knew there was one thing that would still do the trick for me: denim. It’s always been a go to for me – from the perfect pair of worn-in and well loved skinnies, to that soft and faded blue button up. I just can’t seem to go wrong with it, especially when my most favorite pieces are paired together.

I’ve always loved the “Canadian Tuxedo” look – it’s so easy, classic, and chic at the same time. It embodies everything that the stylish French girls strive for – to look effortlessly beautiful. That’s why, sometimes when nothing seems to feel quite right, I go with the simplest thing in my closet, and it usually ends up pulling me out of my rut. I’m loving this off shoulder top as the newest addition to my chambray family, and you can never go wrong with a pair of high-waisted flares!
