Happy first day of April – and dare I say it, the start to music festival season! Though the big Coachella kick off is still a couple of weeks away, there’s no reason that we can’t start planning our boho wardrobes and start incorporating them into our everyday looks. This is the time of year when my inner flower child starts bursting with excitement – give me flowy dresses, tribal patterns, and vintage desert looks!
Though I won’t be attending Coachella and getting lost in the desert this year, it certainly won’t stop me from dressing the part! First up, this lace up denim midi dress from Anthropologie. While year round it may not be exactly my style, for festival season, it couldn’t be more perfect! The faded denim and lace up detail instantly gives a somewhat simple dress a 70’s hippie vibe.
One of my favorite parts about having an editorial style fashion blog is the ability to play around with different looks, locations, and photography styles. When I first got these images back home and started to play around with them, they were looking just like any other springtime shoot. But then, Ryan grabbed the computer from me and put is magic touch on the photos – suddenly they gave the feeling of being a part of another decade!
This shoot in particular has inspired me to continue to evolve The M.A. Times into even more of an editorial style blog. I’ll still be posting everyday looks, but am looking forward to telling a story through the images, as if you were looking at a spread in your favorite magazine. I truly want each look to feel fresh and transform you out of your day, just for a second, into another world of inspiration and excitement. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend – and get ready for a whole new week of posts coming your way starting Monday!
