Moon River & Korakia Pensione

Happy Friday! To wrap of my two weeks of sharing my trip to California (yes, I promise I’m almost done!) I wanted to give you all a little insight into our time we spent staying at the Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs. I had seen countless pictures of the place online – I immediately connected with its bohemian and laid-back vibes, and put it on my list of places I wanted to stay eventually. Earlier this summer, when Ryan surprised me with a trip to Palm Springs, my mind immediately went to the Korakia. We hopped online and looked at…

Joshua Tree

During our time in Palm Springs, we blocked off an evening to spend exploring Joshua Tree National Park. I had heard amazing things, and Ryan, being a photographer, was dying to go for a chance at getting to shoot the Milky Way. We both had incredibly high hopes for what lied ahead, and needless to say, we were not let down in the least! Joshua Tree was easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. We started our drive through the park at the Joshua Tree entrance right around 5:30pm. We wanted to be driving through the park…

Orchid Swim

One thing I’m majorly missing about our time in Palm Springs are the relaxing moments we spent by the pool at the Korakia Pensione. The pool there wasn’t like most at hotels – busy and loud. Instead, it was a place of serenity and relaxation. Mountains on one side, palm trees on the other – it was somewhere to take an indulgent book, or just you and your thoughts, and cozy up for the afternoon. This suit is another one from Orchid Boutique I brought with me on my trip, and it was perfect for my down time by the pool,…

Moroccan Nights

I’m so excited today to kick off the second week of posts from my trip to California! This lace caftan from Anthropologie was easily one of the most gorgeous pieces I wore on my trip. As soon as I spotted it, I knew it was coming with me. The fabric was perfect for the hot summer evenings – light and airy enough to catch a little breeze, yet still kept me covered once the temperatures cooled off at night. I couldn’t get over how elegant I felt the whole evening wearing it around the Korakia property. There’s so many things…

Pink in Palm Springs

Happy Friday! It’s so hard to believe that it’s already been two weeks since I was hopping on a plane and headed out east to explore Southern California. As I’ve been posting and reliving the memories from our trip this past week, I realized just how much we were able to fit into such a short span of time! I still have so much to share with you next week including our time in L.A., our quick trip to Mexico, and our adventure in Joshua Tree. This dress was a favorite I wore while at the Korakia Pensione. The muted…

The Perfect Black Bikini

Hello from the Korakia Pensione in sunny Palm Springs, California! This part of the trip was definitely one of the best. Staying at the Korakia has been on my list for years, so naturally, this was one of the most highly anticipated parts of the trip for me. The Moroccan and Mediterranean themed resort has a completely soothing and relaxed vibe, making it the perfect environment for grabbing a good book and lounging by one of the two gorgeous salt water pools for the day! As soon as we made our reservation, I immediately knew it was going to require a…

Desert Days

Where to even start! If feels like it’s been ages since I’ve been present here on the blog, though in reality it’s only been a week. So much has happened this past week that I’ve been dying to share with all of you though, and it’s made the days go by even longer. If you’ve been following along on Instagram you’ve seen several sneak peeks of content coming up on the blog we shot while in California. This trip was so jam-packed with so many things to do. Prior to leaving for the trip, I had planned on blogging as…

San Francisco

MAY 14, 2015 | LOCATION: SAN FRANCISCO As you may have noticed by way of my Instagram, I literally lived in this coat during our time in San Francisco. While I’d like to think I packed appropriately, I was definitely in need of extra layers when the sun hid behind a cloud, or the wind started blowing. This coat was a lifesaver!

Yosemite

MAY 12, 2015 | LOCATION: YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK While there are many trends making comebacks this season, there is one in particular that stands out as a clear front runner for me: broderie. I love the delicate crochet sleeves on this dress, and the dainty feminine detail it adds to any piece. Fashion icon, Brigitte Bardot, embraced the trend years ago, and it’s seen all over the collections this season.

California Travel Diary // Part 2

I’m finally back home! Although I was only gone a week, we were able to pack so many adventures in. The last half of my trip ended in Yosemite and San Francisco. We took an overnight trip up to Yosemite – the sights are amazing! There are no pictures that can do it justice. Between encountering a bear (I may have been pretty terrified), and sleeping in a hut in the middle of the woods, it was definitely one of the more adventurous things I had ever done.
