One of my favorite things about taking blog photos in Charleston was that the backdrop was almost enough all on its own! As I talked about here, I was mesmerized by all the houses and each one’s unique character. When packing for the trip, I knew each look I wore there didn’t have too be anything over the top and special – the Charleston charm in the background would compliment just about anything!
I instantly knew this look from The Art of Style would be perfect – it’s simple and casual, with just a hint of sass on the back. It was exactly what I’d pictured strolling down the streets in. This street in particular was one of my favorites. We shot these photos early in the morning, just as the town was starting to wake up. People were peeking out their front doors in robes and slippers to grab their paper to read lazily with a cup of fresh brewed coffee, or were on a stroll around the block with their adorable King Charles puppies, stopping to chat with the neighbors as they went.
I remembered why I loved Charleston so much during the few moments we spent on this street. No one seemed in a hurry, and they were all taking the time (at least that morning) to enjoy the gorgeous weather and sunshine. Though I’ve always considered myself a city girl at heart, something about the time spent wandering the streets of Charleston made me think I could happily settle down in a quiet, charming little town like this.
