One of the most important things I’ve learned about fashion is that when building your wardrobe, it’s always best to start with the basics. A couple good pairs of denim, a dark wash and a white, a classic trench, a black pump, a good chunky sweater, a striped tee, and a LBD. While staples vary for everyone, one staple for me has always been my denim jacket.
It can be thrown on top of pretty much anything – and instantly transforms a sundress into something March-appropriate, or turns a fancier dress into something wearable for daytime. One of my favorite things about this look is I consider everything in it to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. Anything with stripes is always classic and versatile, and lately I just can’t live without my white sneakers!
A tan crossbody is a must-have too, but I love that this one by Pixie Mood has a subtle pop of color to make it a little more playful and unique. There’s nothing super trendy or high-fashion about this look, but sometimes it’s nice on a weekend to just be comfortable and cool in the classics.
