A Nod To Mod

Sometimes when I’m putting together a look, I don’t have a whole laid out plan of what inspired me to put certain pieces together. Sometimes, something just speaks to me, and I wear it because I plain feel good in it. That was the case with this little floral dress. I saw it in Anthropologie weeks ago, but when I went back to Anthropologie in Durham recently, I was convinced it needed to come home with me. It was just once of those dresses.

I posted earlier this spring about the movie Man From U.N.C.L.E. and how it had me wanting to incorporate more mod looks into my personal style. Well, mission accomplished. I can’t get enough of the fun retro floral print on this dress! Naturally, I had to pair it with my favorite mini bag and my go-to white sunnies. The look was made complete by a snazzy pair of red block heel pumps, and oversize pearl earrings.

This was one of those looks that I didn’t want to take off when we were done shooting. The dress spoke to me, and I felt more like myself than ever. I’ve always pictured myself being a part of the 1960’s era, purely for the fashion of course, and slipping into the dress was about as close as I’ll probably ever get to that dream!
