A Lesson In Layering

We’ve had such a nice few days these last couple of weeks that it’s safe to say I’ve totally caught spring fever! How many more weeks until it’s officially here? Ugh! I’ve already started stocking up on some pieces I can’t wait to wear once the temps warm up, but for now I’m figuring out ways to style them to get me by until April. Keep reading below for the easiest couple of ways to style your favorite warm weather minis and blouses to keep you looking warm yet chic for the next couple of months!

LAYER UP

Just because a blouse is lightweight or sheer, doesn’t mean you can’t go ahead and start rocking it! I’ve already started breaking out my silky white and floral print chiffon tops. I fell in love with this scalloped top from Chicwish (how darling are the pearl buttons?) and there was no way I was waiting until spring to wear it.  Just be sure to add an extra layer of warmth on top! Opt for a faux fur vest or teddy coat to keep the look elevated and chic, but without being frozen.

TIGHTS, PLEASE

I love the look of a mini skirt with a longer outerwear piece. There’s something so oh-la-la yet understated about it. I’m slightly obsessed with the asymmetrical style right now, like this sweet tweed one from Chicwish. The only problem? My (super white) legs get goosebumps within minutes! If I’m not wearing my over the knee boots, then tights become my best friend this time of year. Play around with different colors and textures depending on your mini – styles are ranging anywhere from sheer and opaque to polka dots and fishnets. The sky is the limit!

Editor’s Note

I’m so happy it’s already Thursday! Though this week has been long in ways, it’s also been a good one. I started a new additional part time job yesterday, and though change can sometimes be stressful, I’m actually looking forward to having a fresh routine and learning new things. Otherwise, I’m also looking forward to a weekend getaway with Ryan this weekend! It’s been a minute since we’ve been able to head up to my family cabin in Blowing Rock, so we’re packing our bags and road-tripping tomorrow night. I love this look so much, that skirt is amazing ! I love skirts so, so much and that one is just gorgeous – the tweed is perfect for warmer weather as well. The vest looks lovely with the outfit as well, definitely would add some extra warmth !

That tweed skirt is to die for! Classic with a twist! I don’t think I’ve ever though of layering tweed with fur but love how it looks here, such a cute outfit that you’re rocking!
