A Fresh Perspective

Happy Tuesday! Let me start out by saying – I’m so excited to be back blogging. I definitely missed sharing with you on this space, and boy, do we have a lot to catch up on! First of all, where in the world have I been? Since coming home from Paris engaged, life has been moving at light speed. Talk about a whirlwind! While we were in Paris, Ryan found out that an offer he made on the house of our dreams in my hometown was accepted. The second we got home from Paris, we were immediately consumed with getting prepped for our move, and more importantly, to be first time homeowners!

With the holidays approaching, I wanted to soak in the season as much as possible. What I intended to be just a week break from blogging quickly turned into almost a month. Between packing, moving (and dare I even mention wedding planning?), there were so many exciting things in the works to juggle. In hindsight, I’m so happy I took the opportunity to step back, take in everything going on in my life, and gain a fresh perspecitve.

Stepping away from The M.A. Times gave me a chance to think about what I really wanted this platform to be. I’ve always loved sharing my life via my personal style, but as my life has started to expand, I want to showcase more of a personal side of myself with all of you. I want this to be a place where you can come to find true fashion inspiration. One of the best parts of style blogging, is the ability to “play dress up,” if you will, but while it’s fun to get dolled up for a shoot, it’s not necessarily realistic.

What I aim to share going forward, is chic yet approachable and achievable style. When in Paris, I was heavily influenced by the effortless mentality Parisian women have about fashion. Whether it be achievable because of the price tag, or achievable because of it’s ease of wear, I’m hoping to share looks with all of you that actually inspire you in some way! There’s no better compliment than feeling like this space of the internet has somehow been a resource to any of you. So, what I’m trying to say is, if a look isn’t something I’d be 100% comfortable galavanting around my new small town of Apex in, it’s probably not going to make the cut for the blog either.

Though I’ve always worked with brands that I truly loved and supported in the past, it’s my promise to you that going forward, this space will be one that’s completely open and honest. I won’t be posting make-up and beauty products I haven’t thoroughly tested and loved myself, and I won’t be posting outfits that don’t make me feel confident and comfortable. As I dive into one of the most exciting years of my life (with a new home and wedding on the horizon), I can’t wait explore these new aspects of my life together with you here on the blog.

Thank you all so much for your continued support for The M.A. Times! Each and every one of you means the world to me. Please leave me a comment below with anything you’d like to see more of this year – I can’t wait to continue to share our travel posts, as well as much more creative content I have in store for this year. I’m so looking forward to 2017 and sharing it with all of you!
